Director of the Mental Health Counseling Program

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary and strategic leadership for the new Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program
• Guide the program through the CACREP accreditation process and ensure compliance with SACSCOC standards
• Coordinate curriculum design and delivery while managing clinical training partnerships
• Recruit, mentor, and oversee program faculty
• Teach graduate-level counseling courses across various formats
• Support student learning, success, and program operations
• Cultivate community and clinical partnerships and engage in professional scholarship

Requirements

• Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program
• Eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina
• Proven teaching excellence in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to diversity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with CACREP accreditation processes
• Prior administrative or leadership experience within a counseling program
• Familiarity with SACSCOC or other regional accreditation standards
• Experience in curriculum design and program implementation across diverse instructional modalities
