About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day administration for the HEOP program to improve student recruitment, retention, and graduation outcomes.
- Ensure full compliance with all New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations, reporting requirements, and funding guidelines.
- Develop and implement long-range strategic initiatives, assessment plans, and program evaluations aligned with institutional priorities.
- Manage program operations, including the development and oversight of the HEOP operating budget.
- Lead comprehensive student support initiatives, including academic advising, counseling, and financial aid coordination.
- Coordinate and supervise the HEOP Summer Program, including recruitment, staffing, and curriculum coordination.
- Collaborate with Admissions, Financial Aid, and Academic Affairs to support student enrollment and success.
- Monitor and maintain accurate student records, retention data, and graduation metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, student support services, or educational opportunity programs.
- Demonstrated experience working with historically underserved, first-generation, and low-income student populations.
- In-depth knowledge of New York State Arthur O. Eve HEOP regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Proven experience in program administration, budgeting, assessment, and compliance reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Affairs, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Prior experience directing or managing HEOP, EOP, SEEK, College Discovery, TRIO, or comparable access programs.
