Director of Technology

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the IT function to support multi-unit growth and reliable day-to-day operations
• Manage the IT budget, vendor relationships, and MSP contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness
• Design and deploy technology infrastructure, networks, and POS systems for new cafe openings
• Oversee company IT infrastructure, including security, identity management, and cloud services
• Implement security policies to ensure compliance with PCI DSS and CCPA
• Serve as the day-to-day administrator for company-wide AI strategy and tool enablement
• Develop data management strategies and oversee the development of a data lake architecture
• Lead and develop a small internal IT team and establish service level agreements (SLAs)

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in retail or hospitality
• Proven track record of scaling IT infrastructure for rapid organizational growth
• Experience with POS systems (Toast preferred) and field-based technology environments
• Experience managing security frameworks and compliance standards like PCI and CCPA
• Hands-on experience building workflows with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Ability to travel up to 20%
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical tasks like kneeling or climbing ladders
