Director of Technical Accounting

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical accounting expert and advisor on all complex accounting matters under US GAAP and SEC regulations
• Research, document, and communicate accounting positions for complex transactions including new product structures and financing arrangements
• Lead accounting for automotive vehicle and robotics sales, revenue recognition, and debt instruments
• Oversee accounting for leases, stock-based compensation, and stockholders' equity
• Own and maintain the Company’s accounting policy library
• Collaborate with the Director of SEC Reporting on 10-K and 10-Q filings
• Oversee the design and maintenance of internal controls related to technical accounting areas
• Mentor and develop accounting staff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA certification required
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with emphasis on technical accounting
• Demonstrated expertise in US GAAP technical accounting topics
• Experience establishing accounting policy frameworks at a public company
• Prior SEC filing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Big 4 public accounting experience
• Industry experience in automotive, EV, technology, or manufacturing
• Experience with multinational organizations and foreign subsidiary accounting
• Proficiency with Workiva or SAP
• Bilingual in English and Chinese Mandarin
