Director of Teaching and Learning

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and coordinate a multi-modal array of evidence-based education and training programs to enhance faculty effectiveness and student learning.
• Implement the Center’s strategic plan, rooted in the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm, to provide holistic support for faculty professional development.
• Lead teaching and learning support for the Center for Faculty Development, including the hiring, training, and development of professional staff and student workers.
• Provide high-quality professional development opportunities and individualized support to faculty.
• Foster collaboration and maintain relationships with faculty and campus partners to meet institutional needs.
• Assess program outcomes and adjust initiatives to ensure continuous improvement of support services.
• Support the process for soliciting, vetting, and selecting faculty for excellence awards.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree with an emphasis in higher education, instructional design, human relations, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience teaching at the university level.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in pedagogical development.
• Proven history of building and maintaining internal partnerships and administrative skills in higher education.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
• Experience using database tools such as Airtable.
