Director of Tax

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead coordinator for all tax-related Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), ensuring strategy alignment across Income, Sales & Use, Property, and R&D Tax functions.
• Lead the development and execution of the company’s comprehensive tax strategy to optimize the effective tax rate (ETR) and mitigate risk.
• Act as the senior internal advisor to the CFO and executive leadership on the tax implications of M&A, international expansion, and capital structure changes.
• Oversee the structuring of complex transactions in partnership with legal and finance deal teams to ensure tax efficiency.
• Establish and maintain a robust tax governance framework ensuring compliance with SOX, GAAP, and local statutory requirements.
• Lead the coordination of all tax audits and manage relationships with third-party tax firms and consultants.
• Drive process efficiency by leveraging technology and automation to enhance tax reporting and data analytics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 15+ years of progressive tax experience in a large corporate environment or a Top 50 accounting firm.
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in Federal/State Income Tax, Indirect Tax (Sales & Use), and international tax principles.
• Proven track record of managing and synthesizing input from multiple SMEs and external consultants.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax senior executives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s in Taxation (MST) or JD/LLM.
• CPA designation.
• Experience in a high-growth technology, data center, or AI infrastructure company.
