About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Student Success Center, including accessibility services, advising, bridge programs, and tutoring.
- Manage departmental budgets, assessment activities, policies, procedures, and reporting.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services that support student retention and persistence.
- Oversee accessibility services to ensure compliance with the ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other federal and state regulations.
- Supervise seven professional staff members, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to promote equitable access to academic programs and strengthen advising initiatives.
- Support first-year transition programs and academic recovery efforts through data-informed interventions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in education or a related field.
- Three years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated strong supervisory and personnel management experience.
- Experience leading academic advising, academic support, or student retention programs.
- Proven experience working with diverse student populations and varying academic preparedness levels.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five to six years of experience in higher education.
- Experience with student information systems and success technologies (e.g., Banner, Ellucian, TargetX, Argos).
- Experience with strategic planning, assessment methodologies, and large-scale retention initiatives.
