Director of Student Services

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Associate Dean on strategic and administrative planning to ensure a high-quality student experience and support retention.
• Design, implement, and manage a broad array of campus-based student services, resources, and programming.
• Develop and execute an annual Student Engagement Plan and manage comprehensive student surveys to identify trends and strategic recommendations.
• Oversee student programming focused on leadership, professional development, career preparation, and social engagement.
• Lead new student orientations and signature campus events to integrate students into the Arlington community.
• Collaborate with university departments, faculty, and external partners to ensure accessibility of services and support student success.
• Manage campus-based communications, including website and SharePoint content for prospective and current students.
• Supervise campus-based student services staff and manage the annual student services and programming budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in academic or student life roles within a higher education context.
• Demonstrated success in developing and managing multifaceted student success programming and projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Student Affairs or a related field.
• Experience supervising staff and student employees.
• Experience working with students in crisis and the ability to respond with composure.
