Director of Student Housing and Residence Life

Responsibilities

• Manage residence hall housing for over 400 students, including room assignments and billing.
• Oversee residence life finances, including budgeting and financial projections.
• Direct the selection, training, and supervision of approximately 18 Resident Assistants per term.
• Collaborate with campus units such as facilities, dining services, security, and IT to maintain a high-quality living and learning community.
• Lead crisis response efforts and assume on-call responsibilities for the residence halls.
• Act as a hearing officer for student misconduct occurring within the residence halls.
• Develop and publish residence life materials, including procedure manuals and housing guides.
• Support university-wide events such as orientations, welcome weeks, and commencement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of two years of professional residence life experience.
• Proven experience supervising student staff.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience supervising professional staff.
• Experience with Adirondack Solutions Software (Housing Director).
