About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and administration for the College’s fellowship advising program
  • Oversee nomination processes for national fellowships and Bowdoin-funded student research awards
  • Develop strategies to identify, recruit, and support students and alumni in seeking competitive academic opportunities
  • Direct policies and administrative processes for research opportunities, including Summer Research Fellowships and Mini-Grants
  • Liaise with students, faculty, the Student Fellowships Committee, and national funding agencies
  • Manage departmental budgets and oversee administrative processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-3 years of related experience (4-7 years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of national fellowships and undergraduate research administration
  • Experience in advising, mentoring, or grant writing
  • Proficiency in budget management, database management, and website management tools
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and public presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations concerning research compliance
  • Experience working in an academic environment
