About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and administration for the College’s fellowship advising program
- Oversee nomination processes for national fellowships and Bowdoin-funded student research awards
- Develop strategies to identify, recruit, and support students and alumni in seeking competitive academic opportunities
- Direct policies and administrative processes for research opportunities, including Summer Research Fellowships and Mini-Grants
- Liaise with students, faculty, the Student Fellowships Committee, and national funding agencies
- Manage departmental budgets and oversee administrative processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1-3 years of related experience required (4-7 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of national fellowships and undergraduate research administration
- Proven skills in writing, editing, and interpersonal communication
- Experience with budget management and supervising others
- Proficiency in database and website management tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree
- Experience in academic advising or mentoring
- Knowledge of laws and regulations concerning research compliance
- Experience with grant writing or working with national foundations
