About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and administration for the College’s fellowship advising program
  • Oversee nomination processes for national fellowships and Bowdoin-funded student research awards
  • Develop strategies to identify, recruit, and support students and alumni in seeking competitive academic opportunities
  • Direct policies and administrative processes for research opportunities, including Fall Research Awards and Summer Research Fellowships
  • Liaise with students, faculty, the Student Fellowships Committee, national foundations, and funding agencies
  • Manage program budgets and oversee administrative processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree is preferred
  • 1-3 years of related experience required (4-7 years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of national fellowships, scholarships, and undergraduate research administration
  • Proven experience in advising or mentoring, preferably in an academic environment
  • Proficiency in budget management, database management, and website management tools
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
