About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and administration for the College’s fellowship advising program
- Oversee nomination processes for national fellowships and Bowdoin-funded student research awards
- Develop strategies to identify, recruit, and support students and alumni in seeking competitive academic opportunities
- Direct policies and administrative processes for research opportunities, including Fall Research Awards and Summer Research Fellowships
- Liaise with students, faculty, the Student Fellowships Committee, national foundations, and funding agencies
- Manage program budgets and oversee administrative processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree is preferred
- 1-3 years of related experience required (4-7 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of national fellowships, scholarships, and undergraduate research administration
- Proven experience in advising or mentoring, preferably in an academic environment
- Proficiency in budget management, database management, and website management tools
- Exceptional writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
