About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide general oversight for all student conduct issues, including misconduct and academic integrity, within the student code of conduct.
  • Serve as the University’s Title IX Coordinator, managing investigations, grievance processes, and compliance with federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement University programs, strategic initiatives, and training related to student conduct and sexual misconduct policies.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure fair and equitable investigations regarding allegations of sexual harassment and Title IX violations.
  • Maintain and update University policies and procedures to ensure adherence to the Clery Act, VAWA, and other applicable statutes.
  • Assist in the collection of data for the Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or an advanced degree in a related field, OR a Bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience in Title IX or conduct-related investigations.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Title IX, the Clery Act, and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
  • Demonstrated Christian faith consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Samford University, including active participation in a local church.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and manage multiple concurrent tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Maxient software.
  • Proven investigator skills with the ability to analyze complex information to reach sound conclusions.
  • Ability to design and deliver mandatory learning programs to diverse campus constituencies.
  • Experience in fiscal management of related budgets.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills.
