Director of Student Activities and Leadership

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for student engagement, leadership development, and campus programming to enhance student belonging and retention.
• Coordinate the planning, policy formulation, and management of the Office of Student Activities and Leadership.
• Lead campus-wide new student initiatives, including the coordination of Welcome Week and Week One activities.
• Supervise the Associate Director, Assistant Director, and departmental student employees.
• Serve as a primary resource and liaison for student clubs, organizations, Student Senate, and Greek Life.
• Manage departmental budgets, student activities fees, and the distribution of club funding.
• Oversee student programming spaces in the Dahl Centennial Union and coordinate campus recreation and intramurals.
• Monitor and mitigate risk related to departmental programs and student-led events.

Requirements

• Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and 5-8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory and the importance of co-curricular programming.
• Proven experience working with diverse student populations in a residential college setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to cultivate inclusive and equitable relationships with students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by campus programming.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8-10 years of professional experience working on interdisciplinary teams supporting college students.
• Extensive experience across student activities, student government, residence life, and leadership development.
