Director of Strategy and Planning

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of priority cross-bureau and cross-division initiatives
• Convene stakeholders across DMH bureaus to drive alignment and manage decision-making
• Support organizational priority-setting, including development and tracking of annual operational goals and performance metrics
• Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of divisional policies and programs using an equity lens
• Collaborate with partners to design and execute research studies and needs assessments
• Identify and support strategic grants and funding opportunities
• Supervise and mentor a Strategic Initiatives Manager and Senior Planning Analyst

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in strategic planning, program management, or organizational leadership
• Expertise in behavioral health or public health systems
• Proven track record leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
• Experience with performance management frameworks and data-informed planning
• Experience with grant or budget oversight
• Supervisory experience
• Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental, or social science or public health

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of New York City and New York State behavioral health policy
• Understanding of Medicaid and the landscape of community-based behavioral health providers
