Director of Solutions Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing EMEA Solutions Engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and customer obsession.
• Develop and execute the global vision and strategy for the Solutions Engineering function in alignment with sales and growth objectives.
• Own the technical sales strategy, including product demonstrations, proofs-of-concept (POCs), and sophisticated solution designs.
• Partner with Sales and Product leadership to act as the voice of the customer and influence the product roadmap and GTM strategy.
• Implement scalable processes and playbooks for the pre-sales and implementation lifecycle, from discovery to RFP responses.
• Represent Airwallex as a senior technical leader in executive briefings and key customer meetings with C-level stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3+ years of senior leadership experience in EMEA Presales, Sales Engineering, or Solutions Architecture.
• 10+ years of experience in technical, client-facing roles.
• Strong background in engineering, software development, or product, with experience designing complex software solutions.
• Proven experience with enterprise sales cycles and go-to-market (GTM) motions.
• Deep understanding of API-driven platforms and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Outstanding executive communication and presentation skills.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) is preferred.
• Knowledge of the payments ecosystem, financial services, or Fintech is highly advantageous.
