Director of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead technology and process implementations within the Observability Platforms space to support Site Reliability Engineers and Operations across the firm.
• Drive AIOps strategy and deliver technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple business domains.
• Conduct vendor evaluations to define and implement roadmaps for future strategic products.
• Manage team resources, budgets, tactical operations, and the execution of technical processes.
• Maintain governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and portfolio operations.
• Influence senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.

Requirements

• Experience leading cross-functional teams of technologists, specifically within large-scale Observability Platforms (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, or Kafka).
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Demonstrated knowledge of automation as code principles for software application installation and configuration.
• Proven experience with AWS infrastructure or other cloud design and implementation.
• Strong ability to manage, anticipate, and solve complex technical challenges within a specialized domain.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience researching and developing AIOps or Machine Learning (ML) solutions.
• Proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database languages.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Direct experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, or Prometheus.
