About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate security programs, regulations, and procedures
- Prepare planning documents for funding, security, and community outreach
- Provide technical assistance, training, and supervision to subordinate staff
- Direct and train staff, including conducting roll calls and inspecting work areas
- Respond to emergency situations and serious incidents
- Liaise with local agencies, law enforcement, and community members
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure a safe and secure environment
- Maintain records and reports regarding patrols, demonstrations, and arrests
- Appear in court or assist other law enforcement agencies as required
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree and two years of community work experience, OR
- High school diploma and six years of community work experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in law enforcement, protection, or security
- Ability to qualify and maintain certification as a Peace Officer in New York State
- Valid New York State motor vehicle driver license
- Certification in Fire Safety/Emergency Action Plan in New York State
- Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends
