Director of Security

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the security team, including mentoring security engineers and architects
• Define and evolve a comprehensive security strategy aligned with business and product goals
• Embed security into engineering workflows, including threat reviews and CI/CD pipelines
• Govern compliance and third-party risk to satisfy regulatory and fintech expectations
• Act as a pragmatic risk-management partner to provide business-enabling guardrails
• Communicate complex security risks and concepts to executive leadership and stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and growing security teams within growth-stage businesses
• Familiarity with operating in a public company environment
• Deep understanding of cloud-native security principles (least privilege, zero trust, segmentation)
• Strong expertise in IAM controls and architectural trade-offs
• Ability to balance risk mitigation with operational speed and employee experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience in the Fintech or Insurtech industries
• Experience guiding a security function through an IPO process
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as NIST, CIS, SOX, SOC2, PCI, and CCPA/CPRA
• Exposure to DevSecOps and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible
