About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 40 major gift prospects with the capacity to make gifts of $125,000 or more.
- Execute an annual fundraising business plan to meet an annual production goal in excess of $1,000,000.
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit prospects to move them toward making philanthropic commitments to the university.
- Prepare solicitation materials and briefing materials for University leadership, including the President or Deans.
- Partner with the Planned Giving team to direct and refer solicitations for bequests and annuities.
- Maintain accurate records of all prospect contact within the University Advancement management system.
- Represent the university at relevant events, meetings, and functions, including some evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of development-related experience in higher education.
- Proven track record of personal portfolio management and securing individual gifts of $125,000 or above.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to travel as required for donor engagement.
