Blue Energy’s mission is to unlock energy abundance, energy affordability, energy security, and turn-key decarbonization by developing the fastest path to deploying new nuclear MWs at scale. We are utilizing shipyard manufacturing supply chains and techniques from offshore oil and wind to reduce the cost of nuclear plants by over 60%.
Responsibilities
- Own the site development lifecycle including diligence, negotiation, and management of permits and agreements for nuclear project sites
- Drive identification, screening, and acquisition of new sites and land rights
- Establish workflows, metrics, and decision gates to track site progression and manage risks
- Align with commercial, finance, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure site-specific requirements are integrated into project scope
- Manage and mentor a high-performing pod of project developers
- Engage with landowners, regulators, utilities, and industrial clients
- Synthesize progress and risks into actionable insights for senior leadership
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in utility-scale project development (energy, infrastructure, or data center projects)
- Proven project and process management skills for complex, multi-stakeholder programs
- Track record of driving projects from concept to financial close and construction start
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical/regulatory work into leadership updates
- Ability to work with engineering, landowners, vendors, RTOs/ISOs, and utilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in nuclear, renewable, or large-scale energy project development
- Blend of consulting and engineering background
- Familiarity with U.S. permitting, siting, and interconnection processes
- Knowledge of federal/state clean energy policy and tax credits
- Experience leading small teams in a fast-paced, scaling organization
