Director of Product, Payments Platform

Responsibilities

• Shape the cross-functional platform product strategy and coherent architecture
• Own the end-to-end payments platform strategy including vaulting, authorization, processing, reconciliation, and refunds
• Drive down payment processing costs through better routing and smarter retry logic
• Build and scale fraud detection and dispute infrastructure
• Expand payment method coverage across cards, bank transfers, and wallets
• Partner with Risk, Finance, Ops, and Engineering to build scalable solutions
• Lead and grow a high-performing product team of PMs
• Define success metrics and build dashboards to measure cost, reliability, and loss rates

Requirements

• 7+ years of product experience
• 3+ years in payments, fraud, or platform product roles within fintech or banking
• Deep understanding of authorization, retries, tokenization, gateways, and card networks
• Ability to balance UX, cost optimization, and regulatory requirements
• Strong technical acumen and systems thinking
• Proven experience as a player-coach managing PMs

• Experience working with payment processors
• Experience building dispute automation
• Experience expanding payment options in regulated environments
