Director of Product Design

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a clear design strategy for the developer platform, including APIs, SDKs, and developer tools.
• Partner with product and engineering leaders to embed design early in the product strategy and problem-framing process.
• Oversee end-to-end experience design, including research, interaction design, and UI for complex, data-rich products.
• Raise the quality bar for UX/UI across desktop, mobile web, and native mobile applications.
• Lead and grow a high-performing team of senior and staff-level product designers across global studios.
• Drive rigorous discovery and validation practices using research, experimentation, and product analytics.
• Collaborate with design system teams to ensure experiences utilize and extend shared platform patterns.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in product or UX design, specifically with complex, system-heavy products (e.g., B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments).
• 4+ years of experience leading and managing designers, including senior or design manager levels.
• Deep domain knowledge of developer platforms, APIs, SDKs, and technical tooling.
• Strong expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and systems thinking for complex workflows.
• Proven ability to set a long-term vision, align stakeholders, and lead multi-quarter initiatives.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background specifically working with API products and developer-facing experiences.
• Degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field.
