Director of Physical Production

Responsibilities

• Own physical production end-to-end including studio shoots, location work, and multi-environment productions
• Shape the production organization by investing in talent and leveraging automation, remote teams, and AI
• Drive production throughput and cycle time improvement through reporting and bottleneck diagnosis
• Manage studio operations, facility readiness, equipment inventory, and scheduling
• Lead and develop the production team through coaching and raising craft standards
• Manage freelance crew pipelines and vendor relationships, including sourcing and rate management
• Build operational systems, processes, and documentation to ensure scalability
• Manage production spend with discipline across crew, equipment, vendors, and facilities

Requirements

• 7+ years in production operations
• 3+ years managing teams in high-volume environments (broadcast, digital media, or high-cadence ad production)
• Hands-on experience managing studios, equipment operations, and freelance crew pipelines
• Proven track record of building operational processes and systems
• Systems-first mindset with an instinct for automation and AI integration
• Strong planning discipline and fluency with production management tools
• Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles with daily studio presence
