Director of Operations

Responsibilities

• Oversee Conservatory concerts and events, managing over 150 events per year
• Supervise a Stage and Technical Director and coordinate the work of staff and students
• Coordinate scheduling for performance, rehearsal, and classroom facilities across six spaces
• Operate and supervise the use of event-based lighting, sound, recording, and stage equipment
• Manage daily, weekly, and annual rehearsal and performance logistics
• Manage Conservatory inventory, equipment, and technical purchase recommendations
• Collaborate with campus facilities teams to generate invoices, quotes, and contracts
• Act as a liaison for emergency response plans and institutional compliance

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in performing arts or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in an evolving work environment with changing priorities and operational demands
• Experience with event-based lighting, sound, and stage equipment
• Experience in staff and student supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in venue management
• Experience producing and streaming live performance events and post-production archival procedures
• Experience in musical theater or opera productions in technical director roles
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures for performing arts spaces and academic settings
• Proven ability to manage event logistics and establish sustainable facilities protocols
