Director of Operations Finance

Form Energy is an American manufacturing and energy technology company revolutionizing energy storage with cost-effective, multi-day technology designed to keep the electric grid secure and reliable. We are scaling up battery manufacturing at our high-volume facility in West Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial advisor to the COO and Operations executives
• Guide strategic decision-making through financial modeling and business case development
• Own annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning for manufacturing plants
• Develop capital allocation frameworks and ROI analyses for manufacturing expansions
• Oversee cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory valuation processes
• Maintain financial oversight over fixed assets and manufacturing cost reduction initiatives
• Ensure accurate accounting close, robust internal controls, and SOX 404 compliance
• Recruit, mentor, and retain a world-class operations finance team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business discipline
• 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or heavy industrial environments
• Deep knowledge of cost accounting, inventory valuation, CapEx management, and corporate budgeting
• Proven track record of building and scaling finance teams and influencing C-suite executives

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA (Finance concentration) and/or CPA certification
• Experience in high-growth manufacturing or hardware startups scaling to mass production
• Early career foundation in Big 4 audit or public accounting
• Practical knowledge of SOX 404 compliance and internal controls implementation
