Director of Nursing

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership across all nursing operations, including short-term rehab and long-term care
• Actively participate in patient care, assessments, care planning, and clinical decision-making
• Manage and mentor nursing staff to foster professional growth and accountability
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Implement and enforce policies and regulatory standards for state and federal compliance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including therapy, social work, and dietary
• Monitor clinical performance metrics to drive quality, safety, and efficiency
• Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding care planning and concerns
• Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement projects

Requirements

• Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Proven leadership experience in a skilled nursing setting (e.g., Clinical Manager or ADON)
• Demonstrated hands-on clinical ability and willingness to engage in direct patient care
• Strong strategic, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• In-depth knowledge of nursing standards and regulatory compliance
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with staff development, performance management, and budgeting
