Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all nursing operations within a freestanding emergency department
• Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, coverage, and skill mix for a 24/7 ER environment
• Manage productivity, FTEs, and departmental budgets
• Oversee inventory, pharmacy coordination, equipment readiness, and facility functionality
• Provide direct leadership, hiring, onboarding, and performance management for clinical and non-clinical staff
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and licensing requirements
• Collaborate closely with emergency physicians and medical leadership
• Support quality initiatives, patient flow, and patient satisfaction efforts

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
• Active RN license in the State of Texas
• Demonstrated leadership experience in an Emergency Department setting
• Minimum of five years of progressive clinical experience
• Strong operational, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Preferred Qualifications

• ER or ED leadership background
• Professional certification in emergency nursing or leadership
• Experience in Trauma or Freestanding Emergency Room (FSER) settings
