Director of Merit Scholarship

Responsibilities

• Oversee all components of merit scholarship programs, including marketing, outreach, selection, award distribution, and fund management for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Manage the distribution of approximately $23 million in merit scholarship funding across various sources.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Financial Aid, and University Advancement to develop strategies that ensure the enrollment of high-achieving students.
• Consult with University Advancement regarding new gifts and review fund agreements to ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional policies.
• Monitor student academic progress and continued scholarship eligibility.
• Manage the technology needs of the office, including the AcademicWorks scholarship application system and CRM reporting.
• Plan and implement scholarship-related events such as the Scholarship Awards Dinner and Open Houses.

Requirements

• Master's Degree.
• 5-7 years of experience in higher education.
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid guidelines and scholarship awarding procedures.
• Experience in enrollment management, admissions, or recruiting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with budget and fund management.
• Experience with PeopleSoft or other CRM systems.
