About the role
Responsibilities
- Drive proactive identification and development of divisional policy priorities with an equity and social justice lens
- Conduct and oversee in-depth research and analysis on emerging policy issues and regulatory developments
- Synthesize research findings to develop evidence-based policy recommendations
- Prepare the Executive Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioners for City Council hearings and legislative testimony
- Lead the Division’s annual legislative agenda-setting process
- Serve as the primary liaison to key intergovernmental partners
- Facilitate cross-bureau and cross-agency collaboration
- Translate complex policy research into accessible materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Directly supervise and mentor a Policy Analyst
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in health policy, government affairs, or a related field
- Expertise in behavioral health systems
- Experience working with local or state government and City Council processes
- Demonstrated experience in policy analysis and producing high-quality written work products
- Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental, or social science or public health
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory experience
