Director of Memory Care

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and vibrant environment for residents with dementia or cognitive challenges
• Manage and supervise Memory Care team members including scheduling, hiring, and performance reviews
• Develop and organize daily enriching programs for the Memory Care neighborhood
• Conduct monthly dementia in-service training for team members
• Conduct resident history and preference assessments to develop individualized service plans
• Manage department budget and comply with budgetary reports
• Partner with the Director of Health and Wellness on clinical matters and medication administration systems
• Support hospitality, leasing, and sales processes to promote a positive community image

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in gerontology, social services, behavioral health, therapeutic recreation, or nursing preferred
• 3 to 5 years of experience in dementia care and activity program facilitation
• Experience in management or leading specialized dementia programs
• Knowledge of dementia disease processes and communication strategies
• Experience in budget analysis, review, and control
• Experience supervising team members and conducting performance reviews
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet motor vehicle policy standards
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• LPN experience is a plus
