Director of Major Gifts

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a portfolio of approximately 150 prospect households to secure financial support for University priorities.
• Facilitate all phases of the gift cycle, including contact initiation, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Focus on securing major and planned gifts at levels of $50,000 and greater.
• Prepare detailed gift proposals for campus-wide priorities and strategic initiatives.
• Partner closely with Deans and University leadership to align fundraising strategies with academic and institutional goals.
• Develop and oversee stewardship strategies to ensure high donor satisfaction and increased philanthropic support.
• Represent the Advancement team at key meetings and support various University-sponsored events and councils.
• Recruit volunteer leadership to expand the University's philanthropic base and regional presence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of related work experience in fundraising or development.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to travel frequently to meet with donors.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to support donor engagement and fundraising goals.
• Ability to respect, support, and contribute to the University’s Catholic and Jesuit mission.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree.
