About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead all NRC licensing activities, including design certification, combined license applications (COLs), and license amendments
  • Develop, review, and submit Safety Analysis Reports (SAR/FSAR), environmental reports, and other required regulatory documentation
  • Manage pre-application engagement and formal licensing interactions with NRC staff
  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. nuclear regulatory frameworks including 10 CFR Part 50, Part 52, and Part 53
  • Partner with CTO, CNO, and engineering teams to embed regulatory requirements into reactor designs
  • Represent the company in industry working groups, federal regulatory forums, and technical conferences
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing regulatory and licensing team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 10–15 years of experience in nuclear licensing, regulatory affairs, or compliance in the U.S. nuclear industry
  • Direct experience engaging with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
  • Deep knowledge of 10 CFR Part 50, Part 52, and emerging Part 53 frameworks
  • Experience preparing and defending complex regulatory documents and safety cases
  • Experience with Safety Analysis Reports (SAR/FSAR) and probabilistic risk assessment (PRA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the U.S.
  • NRC Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator License
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with NEPA environmental review processes and modular construction licensing
  • Familiarity with SMR, advanced reactor, or Generation IV technology
