Director of Licensed Installer Operations

Responsibilities

• Own the complete licensed installer lifecycle, including sourcing, certification, performance management, and offboarding
• Build and scale the subcontractor onboarding program, including training protocols and recertification standards
• Develop and monitor KPIs such as customer satisfaction, first-time completion rate, callback rates, and permit pass rates
• Partner with Field Operations to forecast installer capacity based on market launch plans and seasonal demand
• Establish and maintain brand standards on-site to ensure a consistent customer experience across all markets
• Own the QA framework, including remote photo reviews, video walkthroughs, and on-site audits
• Manage subcontractor compensation structures, payment terms, and installer P&L in partnership with Finance
• Partner with Legal to maintain subcontractor agreements and ensure insurance and licensing compliance
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Warehouse teams to operationalize equipment handoff and material tracking

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Construction Management, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in operations, field service management, or contractor management
• Proven experience managing distributed third-party contractor networks or service partners
• Strong knowledge of contractor licensing, insurance compliance, and independent contractor classification
• Proficiency with CRM and field service management platforms (e.g., HubSpot, ServiceTitan, or Zuper)
• Willingness to travel up to 75%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC, home services, construction, or skilled trades industries
• Demonstrated ability to build partner programs, including certification and tiered performance frameworks
• Experience using modern tools, including AI, to automate operational workflows
