Director of Library Services

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and develop long-range goals, policies, and procedures in collaboration with administration.
• Prepare, justify, and administer the library budget, including managing grant applications and fundraising initiatives.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate library staff and volunteers while setting performance standards.
• Oversee the acquisition, curation, and access to print, digital, and media resources.
• Implement and update information technologies to support library services.
• Promote library services through marketing, public relations, and outreach programs for students, faculty, and the community.
• Ensure the safety, maintenance, and compliance of the library building and grounds.

Requirements

• Master of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited program.
• Professional library experience.
• Proven supervisory experience.
• Strong communication, leadership, and public relations skills.
• Knowledge of current technology trends in library services.

Preferred Qualifications

• Several years of progressively responsible professional library experience.
• Experience in high-level library administration.
