About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute the firmwide legal innovation and AI multi-year roadmap, covering practice-group deployment and client-facing capabilities
- Govern the responsible deployment of AI across all global offices and ensure compliance with bar association guidance
- Own the firm’s Legal Tech and AI vendor portfolio, including evaluation, selection, and contract negotiation
- Lead the AI Solutions function, overseeing the development of custom tools, RAG pipelines, and API-connected legal workflows
- Drive AI literacy and adoption through training programs, workshops, and attorney cohort initiatives
- Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team focused on AI solutions, governance, and adoption
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in AI/ML strategy, enterprise technology, or legal technology
- Deep expertise in the generative AI landscape, including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and vector databases
- Proven track record of designing and governing enterprise-scale AI programs and governance frameworks
- Experience leading AI vendor evaluation and executive-level contract negotiations
- Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence managing partners and firm leadership
- JD, MBA, or an advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working within a law firm, legal operations, or an in-house legal department
- Familiarity with legal AI platforms such as Harvey, CoCounsel, or Lexis+ AI
- Experience building custom AI tools using frontier APIs (e.g., Anthropic Claude, OpenAI)
