The mission of the Department of Veterans’ Services is to connect, mobilize, and empower New York City’s Veteran community in order to foster purpose-driven lives for New York City Service Members – past and present – in addition to their caregivers, survivors, and families.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day internal operations and administrative functions
- Manage agency procurement activities, including solicitations, contract administration, and vendor coordination
- Lead agency budget planning, fiscal monitoring, and financial reporting
- Coordinate agency facilities operations, space management, and equipment maintenance
- Support personnel administration including onboarding, staffing coordination, and workforce planning
- Ensure compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations and agency policies
- Develop and implement operational policies and process improvements
- Oversee records management, inventory control, and asset tracking
- Supervise administrative and operational staff and support professional development
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree and four years of satisfactory professional experience
- 18 months of experience in an executive, managerial, administrative, or supervisory capacity
- OR a high school diploma and eight years of relevant experience including 18 months in a supervisory capacity
- Ability to manage procurement, budget, and facilities operations
