Director of Infrastructure Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy and infrastructure engineering for Electronic Trading Services, driving innovation in low-latency compute environments.
• Direct strategies for server hardware platforms, OS tuning, automation, and infrastructure application lifecycles.
• Act as the Design Authority for the compute infrastructure application stack, including build, configuration management, and log/metric aggregation.
• Partner with Lines of Business to align technical strategy with business goals and address compute challenges.
• Interface with hardware and software vendors to establish next-generation platform infrastructure.
• Manage team resources, budgets, and tactical operations while ensuring governance for coding decisions and control obligations.
• Mentor partner technical teams and champion a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

• 10+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification in a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of IPv4 networking, including the OSI model, routing, and multicast mechanisms.
• Extensive experience with Configuration Management tools, such as Chef or Ansible.
• Proven experience leading or developing cross-functional teams of technologists.
• Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.
• Experience in talent development, including hiring and recognizing high-performing engineers.
• Experience leading products as a Product Owner or Product Manager.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in Linux administration, performance tuning, and benchmarking (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux) for low-latency environments.
• Ability to mentor SRE teams on automation best practices and modern infrastructure management.
• Understanding of standard cryptography, including certificates and key pairs.
• Experience with database management systems, specifically PostgreSQL.
