Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for information security across corporate, cloud, and enterprise systems
• Design and implement security architecture for identity, endpoint, network, SaaS, and cloud systems
• Scale security guardrails into engineering workflows including CI/CD, IaC, and secrets management
• Define and implement identity and access management patterns (SSO, MFA, RBAC)
• Lead vulnerability management and remediation programs
• Establish detection and response capabilities, including telemetry and incident playbooks
• Secure enterprise systems supporting engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain
• Perform security architecture reviews for new tools and vendors
• Partner with legal, finance, and IT on audit readiness and third-party risk

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure, or platform security
• Hands-on experience securing cloud and enterprise environments
• Experience building security controls in modern engineering environments (CI/CD, IaC)
• Deep knowledge of identity and access management (SSO, MFA, RBAC)
• Proven experience leading vulnerability management programs
• Ability to move between strategic planning and hands-on execution
• Regular on-site presence in Portland, Oregon (4+ days/week)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a founding or early security hire at a scaling startup
• Experience securing hardware engineering, manufacturing, or industrial/OT systems
• Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO 27001
• Experience with zero trust architecture and modern endpoint management
• Experience with cloud security tooling, SIEM, EDR, and MDM
• Experience in highly regulated industries like aerospace, defense, or energy
