Director of Human Resources

Responsibilities

• Oversee all human resources functions including benefits administration, talent acquisition, compliance, and employee relations.
• Manage benefit programs (Health, Dental, 403(b), etc.), including open enrollment, invoice reconciliation, and claims resolution.
• Lead recruitment and staffing strategies, including managing the onboarding/offboarding process and seasonal summer hiring.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to school leadership regarding management practices, morale, and retention.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including FMLA, ADA, and New York State sexual harassment training mandates.
• Develop and implement student protection training and maintain background check documentation.
• Manage compensation programs, performance evaluations, and HR budgeting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in HR Management or a related field.
• Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR) is required.
• 8-10 years of professional experience in Human Resources.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Suite, with strong spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and interact professionally with all levels of school leadership, faculty, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Experience working in an educational setting.
• Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

Benefits

• Annual salary range of $150,000 – $165,000.
• Most benefits go into effect immediately.
• Participation in the 403(b) retirement plan begins after one year of employment.
