Director of Human Resources

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Office of Human Resources to support the College’s mission and institutional priorities.
• Partner with campus leadership to develop and implement HR strategies related to workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
• Oversee core HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and training.
• Serve as a strategic advisor on employee relations matters, organizational design, and change management.
• Lead complex employee relations issues, including investigations and conflict resolution, in partnership with the Office of General Counsel.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to mitigate institutional risk.
• Utilize HRIS systems and workforce analytics to assess organizational trends and inform data-driven decision-making.
• Oversee the accurate and timely reporting of institutional HR data, including IPEDS submissions.
• Lead organizational development initiatives such as succession planning and leadership development.
• Supervise and develop HR staff while overseeing daily departmental operations and workflow.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of progressively responsible HR experience, including leadership experience.
• Advanced knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
• Proven experience managing complex investigations and employee relations matters.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to maintain high levels of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional HR certification (SHRM or HRCI).
• Experience with Ellucian Banner.
