About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the Department of Health Services in alignment with university mission.
  • Oversee budget planning, fiscal oversight, and long-range financial sustainability for the clinic.
  • Supervise and mentor a multi-disciplinary clinical and administrative team, including medical providers and nursing staff.
  • Ensure high-quality, evidence-based clinical care in compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Lead health promotion, prevention, and wellness initiatives tailored to a diverse student population.
  • Partner with campus units such as Athletics, ROTC, and Flight to ensure student readiness and coordinated care.
  • Support aviation medical compliance by providing guidance on FAA medical certification processes.
  • Serve as a campus public health leader during emergencies and communicable disease outbreaks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in student health services, public health, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated healthcare leadership experience in a clinical or administrative setting.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards including HIPAA, FERPA, and OSHA.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary clinical teams and complex operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in University Health Services, Healthcare Management, or Nursing.
  • Current and valid Nursing licensure to practice in the state of Florida.
  • Experience or familiarity with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) medical certification process.
