Responsibilities
- Own the AeroVect vehicle platform end-to-end, including mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems
- Set the multi-year hardware roadmap and architectural direction for vehicle platforms
- Manage the hardware team across all disciplines, including hiring and scaling the organization
- Drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) rigor to enable volume production
- Partner with software teams on next-generation drive-by-wire stacks (steering, braking, throttle)
- Lead the path toward certified drive-by-wire solutions meeting functional-safety standards (ISO 26262 / ISO 13849)
- Own sensor suite design, compute enclosures, and field reliability improvements
- Manage technical relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers
Requirements
- 15+ years of hands-on hardware engineering experience on shipped products (vehicles, robotics, or industrial equipment)
- Dual depth in both mechanical and electrical engineering
- Direct management experience of multi-disciplinary hardware or robotics teams
- Proven track record of taking products from architecture through DFM to volume production
- Direct experience with electromechanical actuation systems and associated controls/PCB work
- Experience building hardware designed for high reliability in demanding environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with functional-safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 13849, IEC 61508)
- Experience designing or qualifying certified drive-by-wire systems
- Experience working with contract manufacturers at scale (hundreds to thousands of units per year)
- Background in commercial vehicles, off-highway equipment, industrial robotics, or aerospace ground systems
- Firmware or embedded engineering experience
