Responsibilities

  • Own the AeroVect vehicle platform end-to-end, including mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems
  • Set and own the multi-year hardware roadmap and architectural direction
  • Manage the hardware team across all disciplines, including hiring and scaling the organization
  • Partner with software teams on next-generation drive-by-wire stacks (steering, braking, throttle)
  • Lead the path toward certified drive-by-wire solutions meeting functional-safety standards (ISO 26262 / ISO 13849)
  • Own sensor suite design, compute enclosures, and field reliability improvements
  • Manage technical relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers from prototype to volume production

Requirements

  • 15+ years of hands-on hardware engineering experience on real, shipped products (vehicles, robotics, or industrial equipment)
  • Dual depth in both mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Direct management experience of a multi-disciplinary hardware or robotics team
  • Proven track record of taking products from architecture through DFM and into volume production
  • Direct experience with electromechanical actuation systems and associated PCB/controls work
  • Experience building hardware designed for high reliability in demanding environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with functional-safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 13849, IEC 61508)
  • Experience designing or qualifying certified drive-by-wire systems
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers at a scale of hundreds to thousands of units per year
  • Background in commercial vehicles, off-highway equipment, industrial robotics, or aerospace ground systems
  • Firmware or embedded engineering experience
