Director of Government Affairs

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute legislative strategies to shape federal priorities regarding autonomy and AI
• Build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress and staff on relevant Appropriations and Authorization Committees
• Monitor and analyze federal legislative proposals and develop company positions on policy and appropriations
• Draft legislative language, policy briefings, presentations, hearing testimony, and position papers
• Build coalitions across interest groups to advocate for trusted autonomy
• Partner with business development teams, external consultants, and industry partners to drive policy objectives

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience on Capitol Hill, in the federal government, or in issue advocacy
• Deep familiarity with the federal legislative landscape and Appropriations/Authorization processes
• Expertise in defense, national security, autonomy, or emerging technologies
• Established bipartisan relationships with relevant Congressional offices and committees
• Proven track record of execution in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional lobbying experience
• Graduate degree focused on the legislative process, technology, or national security
• Technical background related to autonomy or artificial intelligence
