Director of Government Affairs

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute legislative strategies and shape strategic communications
• Manage engagements in Congressional and Executive branches
• Shape and monitor legislation related to autonomy and AI in defense
• Develop positions and responses to policy and appropriations
• Build and maintain networks with Members of Congress and staff on relevant committees
• Draft legislative language, policy briefings, presentations, and hearing testimony
• Build coalitions across interest groups for trusted autonomy
• Monitor and analyze federal legislative proposals
• Partner with cross-functional leaders on special projects

Requirements

• 5-10 years of Capitol Hill, federal government, or issue advocacy experience
• Familiarity with federal legislative landscape and Appropriations/Authorization processes
• Expertise in defense, national security, autonomy, and/or emerging technologies
• Established bipartisan relationships with relevant Congressional offices and committees
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of lobbying experience
• Graduate degree focused on legislative process, technology, or national security
• Technical background related to autonomy or artificial intelligence
