Director of Finance and Accounting

Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, accounting, and tax operations for Moon (PA and Tokyo Studio) and Moon Creative Ventures
• Direct treasury functions to optimize cash flow, expense, investment, and financial performance
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to inform strategic initiatives
• Manage financial reporting to the Moon Board and Mitsui (parent company)
• Ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Uphold robust internal controls and manage audit processes
• Lead and develop members of the Finance Team
• Identify and manage financial risks to protect company assets

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience
• 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or financial control
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards
• Strong understanding of JGAAP and IFRS
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Freee and QuickBooks
• Experience with expense software such as Expensify
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in Japanese
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification (US or Japan)
• Business level English (verbal and written)
• Experience in fast-paced environments with changing priorities
• Experience working in multicultural teams
