Director of Family Business

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow all facets of the Family Business Program, including strategic planning and day-to-day operations.
• Design and implement educational programming, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences, tailored to family business needs.
• Develop a financially viable and self-sustaining business model through diverse revenue streams, fundraising, and sponsorships.
• Cultivate strong, multigenerational relationships with family business owners, community leaders, and key stakeholders.
• Organize networking events and forums to connect individuals involved in or serving family businesses.
• Oversee the Family Business Steering Committee and collaborate with campus leaders to market and promote program opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Proven experience working with family-owned or small to medium-sized businesses.
• Demonstrated leadership and managerial experience.
• Strong strategic planning and budgeting skills.
• Experience in fundraising and business development.
• Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree.
• Strong ties to the Rochester, NY metro business community.
• Demonstrated understanding of the unique dynamics at the intersection of business and family systems.
