About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide university-wide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all facilities, infrastructure, and long-range capital planning
- Lead campus master planning and facilities initiatives in alignment with institutional strategy and academic programming
- Direct the planning, design, and execution of capital projects and major renovations
- Oversee buildings, utilities, grounds, custodial, maintenance, and distribution services
- Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets, including long-term infrastructure reinvestment forecasting
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and safety codes
- Lead campus energy management, conservation, and sustainability initiatives
- Recruit, supervise, and develop facilities staff through effective performance management and workforce planning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in facilities operations, capital planning, or construction management
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role within a large, complex organization
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and capital project delivery
- Proficiency with facilities planning, design, and asset management software (e.g., AutoCAD or equivalent)
- Strong ability to analyze complex data and interpret technical plans and drawings
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related discipline
- Experience in facilities management specifically within a higher education environment
- Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP) or equivalent professional certification
