Director of Events

Responsibilities

• Strategically plan, coordinate, and execute Advancement-focused events to strengthen relationships with donors, alumni, and friends of the college
• Develop and manage a comprehensive institutional events calendar in consultation with campus departments
• Oversee detailed event logistics, timelines, and on-site execution to ensure high-quality participant experiences
• Manage event budgets, vendor relationships, contracts, and related financial processes
• Coordinate event-related communications and promotional materials in collaboration with marketing teams
• Recruit, train, and supervise student workers, volunteers, and temporary staff
• Conduct post-event assessments and gather feedback to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• Progressive experience in event planning, hospitality, or advancement
• Demonstrated experience coordinating complex, high-visibility events
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the event calendar
• Affirmation of and support for the Mission, Vision, and Statement of Faith of Montreat College

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
